Liam Howard-Fabretto is an R&D Services Advisor with a background in physics, nanotechnology and advanced analytical science. Holding a PhD from Flinders University, his research focused on the characterisation of nanoscale materials using advanced spectroscopy and ion scattering techniques, providing a deep understanding of how cutting-edge technologies move from fundamental research towards commercial application.

Many of the technologies that shape our future are invisible to the naked eye. Understanding them requires curiosity, precision and a willingness to explore the unknown.

Prior to joining RDI Partners, Liam managed highly specialised scientific instruments within Flinders Microscopy and Microanalysis, supporting researchers working across advanced materials, energy, manufacturing and emerging technology disciplines. This experience provided him with a detailed understanding of the scientific infrastructure that underpins innovation and the challenges researchers face when translating complex technical concepts into measurable outcomes.

At RDI Partners, Liam works with companies undertaking technically complex R&D activities across engineering, manufacturing, advanced materials and emerging technology sectors. His scientific background allows him to engage directly with technical teams, helping organisations articulate scientific uncertainty, experimental processes and technological advancement in a way that aligns with legislative requirements. He is particularly passionate about supporting the commercialisation of Australian deep-tech innovation and helping businesses unlock the resources needed to pursue ambitious technical challenges.
